The experience of dieting is such that I would hardly voluntarily resort to this means of self-torture. If not for a "but": I have personally seen the results of two weeks of following a "Japanese" diet. As in the magazine: "before" and "after". Still, the principle in matters of beauty and health works perhaps better.

Lyrically sentimental digression

I must say that I admire the courage of people who can feel the weight loss recipe found on the net and immediately try it on themselves. I'm suspicious of diets myself. Life has reunited me with them twice.

For the first time - seriously, when in the mountains I caught some kind of stomach infection, and for three weeks being at 3000 meters above sea level, I just couldn't eat: everything immediately asked to come back. The second time was when I decided to limit my diet to 1000 calories a day. For nearly a month, my diet consisted of breakfast with ice cream, which is useful for lunch, and frozen vegetables for dinner. I learned that the diet must be balanced much later.

So the first question I asked was: How balanced is the Japanese diet? "More or less, but there aren't enough amino acids, " replied a biochemist friend, "you'll be mean - horror with a gun. "His fears about my hypothetical heightened evil did not materialize. During the first two days, the body was suppressed by the sudden disappearance of the normal food of its life. And realizing that this went on for a long time, but not forever, he was quiet and indifferent.

As happens in the course of each experience in me, I have accumulated a list of delights and disappointments. Or rather, the discomfort and pleasure of eating.

Inconvenience #1

The diet is strict. Because, according to its authors, it is intended to alter metabolism. Therefore, the slightest deviation from course (even a toasted bread, even an apple) - and the expected effect is not guaranteed. And that's what is expected: starting with 5 - 8 kilos and weight stabilization in the future.

Draw #2

It's very difficult to come to a business lunch and order me seductively two hard-boiled eggs and 200 grams of grated carrots. Typically, these requests remain unfulfilled. Therefore, you will have to carry all the provisions with you in your bag. And, most likely, prepare dietary meals the day before.

13 days on the Japanese diet will cost about 2 times less than a daily business lunch or lunch at work. And even more - buying food for the home.

In general, it's best not to start a restricted diet if at least half of the foods it consists of are unpleasant to you. And since I eat with great enthusiasm in "normal life" and fish, and cooked meat, and carrots, and kefir, and cabbage, seeing them at my table was, frankly, a joy.

Many people ask questions about how to drink coffee every morning - isn't it harmful? If you have heart problems or high blood pressure, coffee can have an adverse effect. And before starting a Japanese diet, it's worth checking with your doctor.

A full range of sensations

The first two days of the diet, a vision haunted me: as soon as I closed my eyes, a well-cooked pancake appeared before my inner gaze, spontaneously rolling into a tube. Then someone gently dipped it in strawberry jam and brought it to my face. There were no olfactory hallucinations. After chasing me for two days, the pancake was left behind.

A stony indifference and a calm attitude towards culinary delights that linger to this day. That doesn't mean I'm going to refuse harshly if I'm offered to try something tasty. But the nervous tremors of "there's so much food there" are no longer noticed.

I didn't throw away much - just 4 kilos, but the weight isn't coming back. I don't know who to thank: the Japanese diet developers or myself - for playing sports twice a week. The only detail: during the diet, you are visibly weakened, and in the end it becomes problematic to open an unopened bottle of mineral water. But then strength is quickly restored.
